Tanya

Specialist areas: Running coach and peri to post menopause specialist

I have been on my own personal health and fitness journey, on and off since my late twenties. Believe me there have been some ‘off’ times!

I ran my first marathon in 2005 but only started running at the tail end of 2003. I went from 5k, 10k, half to marathon within a year and half. Prior to all of that I would never even have considered going for a run! I carried on enjoying running, entering events but then wanted to take things a step further by doing a personal trainer qualification. I achieved this in 2006. Family took over after that, three children and 10 years later, I stepped back into the health and fitness industry, joining Ben to become an Applebees Fitness Personal Trainer.

I continuously strive to improve my running and strength. In the last few years, I have completed 50 and 30 mile trail ultra marathons, run virtual London Marathons and other virtual races (helped keep me sane!) and achieved the Three Peaks Challenge in 22.5 hours. I have a place in the 2023 London Marathon and would like to run under 4 hours, so that’s my next goal!

I love helping people to achieve their own goals, to improve their general health and fitness through developing strength, conditioning, stability, flexibility and providing nutrition guidance. I believe it’s about creating healthy habits not restrictions.

Running is a passion and I’m extremely happy when I can help someone become a runner, to improve running or train for a specific event.

My current area of ongoing study and continued professional development is peri to post menopause, to enable me to guide my clients as best I can through this challenging yet powerful phase of life. I feel extremely passionate about empowering women to become stronger in body and mind, giving knowledge and confidence.
